After being picked up from your Sydney hotel, your small-group tour heads out of the city to visit an Australian wildlife park. You'll arrive before the crowds so you can enjoy an up-close wildlife encounter. Hand-feed the freely roaming wallabies, kangaroos and emus at the park, home to creatures great and small, slippery and scaly, fluffy and furry. You might even meet a koala!
Morning tea and coffee is served at the wildlife park as you meet and greet the animals.
Leaving the park, your small-group tour takes you along the Freeway to The Hunter Valley, which is nestled in the lee of The Great Dividing Range.
With more than 120 wineries, the Hunter Valley produces excellent wines, loved both locally and abroad. Today you will visit a few of the Hunter Valley's boutique, artisanal wineries, whose focus is on smaller production, hard-to-source wines. Sample the local vintages and learn how to tell the difference between chardonnay and a pinot noir.
The first visit is to Briar Ridge Vineyard. Here you will enjoy an exclusive private wine tasting from this well renowned viticulture area.
Next visit is to Leogate Estate. At the Leogate Estate the friendly staff will guide you through their range of wines with a number of samples paired with a selection of cheeses. The selection of cheeses have specifically been chosen to match with the award winning wines. You will then be guided around the grounds on an onsite tour of the winery as you learn the wine making process.
Enjoy a relaxing 2 course lunch. We will have a choice from a selection of platters, accompanied by a glass of either red or white wine (your choice) followed by a choice from 2 desserts accompanied by a glass of wine.
After lunch, stop at the Hunter Village you will can either visit the Chocolate Shop for sampling or explore the boutique shops and enjoy a final wine tasting a the local cellar.
Depart Hunter Valley at approximately 2:30pm to arrive back into Sydney at 5pm-5:30pm
