The meeting time for the Hungarian Soul Tour is 9.00 am. Meeting location will be in the heart of Budapest
9.30 am-10.45 am Hungary's history over a cup of coffee or tea. We begin this unique and wonderful day by giving you a deeper understanding of Hungary’s history. This will be presented in an entertaining manner, this enjoyable, colourful one-hour presentation (in English) will give you a glimpse not only into our history, but also into events that influenced Hungarian history and the unique Hungarian soul. Our historian lecturer will seek to answer questions regarding the effects of Hungary’s past on the present, and how developments and events of our history were influenced by the nature and mindset of the Hungarian people. If you want to understand the background of the grandiose dimensions of Budapest and the characteristics of Hungarian mentality, you have to understand our past and the same is true the other way round.
10:45 am- After you have learnt about our history you will get on our private minibus and enjoy the most famous sights of Budapest on an approximately 120-minute guided tour. The route of our Budapest tour includes: Liberty Bridge– Gellért Spa–Citadel–Liberty Statue–Rudas Spa-Chain Bridge–Parliament–Liberty Square–Soviet Monument–Deák Square–Andrássy Avenue–State Opera House–Oktogon.
On the sightseeing tour we will include about four stops.
1.30 pm: The minibus will take you to the venue of lunch: You will enjoy a lovely Hungarian lunch in the home of a Hungarian family, which means you will meet friendly and progressive Hungarians in their home setting as well as enjoy some traditional Hungarian cooking in relaxed atmosphere. Prepare for tasty Hungarian flavours and a unique travel experience. The home lunch is a terrific opportunity to collect personal travel memories and to discuss all kinds of issues with local people. More importantly, food says a lot about a nation’s character. Following the 3 course meal probably you won’t feel like eating dinner…
3.30 pm: private concert: Hungarian music and Hungarian soul.
With our minibus we will drive to another venue where you will enjoy a private concert. Our music really speaks loud about how we think and feel. With the participation of a talented Roma ensemble you will make a trip straight to the heart and soul of the Hungarians. Hungarian Gypsy music is part of the global music scene and culture, it is a national treasure that Hungary is proud of and recognised worldwide. You will attend a private concert, the ensemble will play only for you.
After the concert, until 5.45 pm: Off the beaten track in Budapest: visit some places that the standard city tours never cover. Tour ends in the downtown, near Deák square.
