This full-day tour is the perfect way for you to escape the hustle and bustle city life to have a real "taste" of the countryside while getting a unique insight in the life of rural communities.07:45 We will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the meeting point, where our tour starts. In a small group, we will cycle on our comfortable bamboo bikes through the mostly quiet streets of Hoi An and surrounding communities. You will get an insight in the daily local life and enjoy the beautiful, tranquil countryside along the way.
Firstly, we will visit a somewhat hidden, but beautiful temple nearby. Then cycling to the port where a ferry will bring you to the Island of Cam Kim, where we will cross a spectacular, hand-made, floating bridge of wood. On the other side, we will visit a local farmer who will unveil the secrets of traditional Vietnamese mat weaving. Alongside the picturesque riverbanks, fishermen prepare their colorful boats for another day of fishing. A small, long bridge will take us back to the mainland, where we will continue our way heading for a small factory where the typical Vietnamese pancakes are made.
Next, we will pass through a large cemetery with impressive tombstones and mausoleums, giving us a better understanding in the Vietnamese culture and customs. We will make sure to take sufficient time to relax in shady locations, for cooling down and enjoying a refreshing drink.
As our journey goes on, we cycle through an area where farmers plant mandarin trees which are often typically sold as decoration during the Chinese new-year celebrations. Hereafter, we will be pedaling through fields of water coconut trees, where we will also see many fisherman catching shrimps as well as small fishes.
After lunch, along a beautiful rural track we head to Tra Que Village, where you will see how farmers grow vegetables. Then we will continue our tour by cycling through the beautiful water coconut fields at Cam Thanh. The people cut the leaves and dry them before they can be used to build a roof cover.
You will be impressed by the beautiful countryside, green rice paddies and grazing water buffaloes along the way back to the meeting point. The tour ends here, but you will have the time to chill and relax over a drink before returning with a bag full of memories.
