The ossuary in Sedlec according to the tradition, the abbot of Sedlec monastery, Henry, brought a handful of soil from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem in the 13th century. He dispersed it on the monastery cemetery and it became so called Holy Field. The soil became the part of the Holy Land so a lot of people were buried here, not only from Bohemia, but also from Poland, Bavaria and Belgium. The chapel interior is quite remarkable. The decoration is made almost entirely of human bones. This building has been constructed as a reminder of the fact that human life is transient and death permanent. After exploring a nice architecture of the ossuary and cathedral in Sedlec will move to lovely town Kutná Hora where you see the main historical town in Czech and visit St. Barbara’s Cathedral and the Church of St. Jacob. The pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk originated thanks to the cooperation of the two important men – the abbot of the Žďár monastery, Václav Vejmluva, and the genius architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. The impulse behind the construction of the church was the reveal of preserved tissue in the grave of Jan of Nepomuk in St. Vitus Cathedral in 1719. A legend says that the priest gave his life for keeping a confession secret of queen Žofie.

Than we move to town Ždár nad Sázavou where you visit the most interesting places connected with an extraordinary architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel.
