You'll visit the famous Treaty Oak and it's long and sometimes strange history, take a ride through the University of Texas Campus to see the tower that Charles Whitman made famous and learn about the founding of the school. You will see Sholtz's Beer Garden, Texas' oldest operating business and talk about its significance in forming Texas culture, music and society. You will also take a pedal down to the State Capital grounds to talk about the founding of Texas and the struggle that took place in naming Austin as the capital. Your tour includes a comfortable bike with handbrakes, gears and a rack for your stuff.The two hour tour starts at 9:00am and it is recommended that guests arrive 15 minutes early for an orientation before hitting the road. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes for biking and it is suggested to bring a bottle of water. The tour operator provides comfortable bikes with gears and hand brakes as well as a helmet which is optional.

You will see the Seaholm Power Plant and the historic Treaty Oak, stopping to talk about it's long storied history and it's connection to the formation of Texas. On the way to the University, you'll stop at one of the last remaining moon towers, that lit up the night in the late 1800's and that was made famous in Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused. Upon arrival on campus, you will visit the Tower made famous by the Charles Whitman mass shooting before heading to see the Santa Rita oil well and talk about how oil played a roll in the university's history. The tour will then head to Sholtz's beer garden where you will learn about the local beer and music industry. Lastly, you will coast through the State Capital grounds, stopping to talk about Texas' inception and Austin's role in it.
