From there we are making our way to Hvalfjördur(Whale Fjord) which is located just north from Reykjavik. Botnsdalur is the name of the valley we are going to explore on a 2,5 hour hike. The path is taking you along a high and narrow canyon that was formed by Iceland’s highest waterfall. Walking through the colorful fields makes you feel that you ended up in a fairy tale.
After we made it back to our car we are driving to the National Park Thingvellir, which is only a few kilometers away. There we will get to see the fissure separating the two continental plates, that are constantly drifting further apart from each other.
From there we are heading back to Reykjavik, where you are getting dropped of at your Hotel in the early afternoon.
