This small-group tour is perfect for travelers who like a combination of physical activity and leisurely dining. Explore the hinterlands of Nuuk with an exploration hike and enjoy a delicious dinner that you caught yourself. It will prepared in Restaurant Qooqqut Nuan by the small settlement of Qooqqut.Depart from Nuuk Harbor and start the tour with a short boat ride, approximately 30 minutes, to the Kobbe Fjord east of Nuuk. Along the way be on the lookout for whales, seals and white-tailed eagles. Half-way up the fjord, you will go ashore and begin your hike northeast toward Nuuk Fjord.
The first part of the hike goes through beautiful valley landscapes, taking you up about 1150 feet (350 m) above sea level, from where there are amazing views of Nuuk Fjord, the mountain of Sermitsiaq, and the mountainous landscape of both fjords. It is a breathtaking sight.
After a short rest, head down toward Nuuk Fjord, passing several gushing waterfalls on your way. The hike takes approximately 4 hours.
Once you reach the shore of Nuuk Fjord, you will get back into the boat and head toward the settlement of Qooqqut. On the way there, you will make time to fish for your dinner, usually cod or redfish, which will be prepared by the skillful staff of Restaurant Qooqqut Nuan upon arrival.
After a tasty dinner, you will return to Nuuk by boat, arriving at the harbor at around. 10:00pm.
