A wonderful one day tour taking in sights such as the Wallace Monument, Gleneagles Hotel Estate, home of the Ryder Cup, and the Famous Grouse Experience. Enjoy a tour and a whisky tasting at Glenturret Distillery, Scotland's oldest distillery, Est. 1775.We depart Edinburgh at 9am, passing the famous Kelpies of Falkirk and heading into the Highlands to our first stop of the day, the Wallace Monument. Take time to visit the towering testimonial to William Wallace, one of Scotland's most famous icons, and enjoy beautiful views of Stirlingshire from the summit (own expense).
As we traverse through the beautiful Stirlingshire landscape, we make a brief stop at Gleneagles Hotel Estate; home of the 2014 Ryder Cup, where you will have the opportunity for photos.
Once we enter into the Highlands, we make our way to the Famous Grouse Experience and Glenturret Distillery in Crieff. Here you have the option of taking a tour of the oldest working distillery in Scotland, est. 1775, and sample some whisky (own expense) or alternatively take a leisurely walk in the surrounding woodlands before having a bite to eat in the distillery cafe.
Once we make our way from the distillery we head into the breathtaking landscape of the ‘Sma’ Glen’ where we make a brief stop at Hermitage for a peaceful woodland walk. We continue on to the town of Dunkeld where you can explore the cathedral and grab some light refreshments (own expense) before we make our return to Edinburgh.
