The Harlem Jazz Series hosts some of today’s most talented jazz musicians in the place where it all began. Curated and artistically directed by long-time Harlem resident Craig Harris, a renowned trombonist and composer.Every Tuesday afternoon and Friday evening the house doors open for a series that runs the gamut of all that jazz has to offer: cool vibrations, soothing strings, and invigorating horns. The Harlem Afternoon Jazz Series is a full 90 minutes that leaves audiences mentally and spiritually uplifted while introducing (or reacquainting) them to America’s most original musical form.

Each Tuesday afternoon and Friday evening features a different group or artist (such is the nature of a series), but past performers have included the Bob Stewart Quartet, Carla Cook, the Vincent Chancey Quartet, Milton Suggs, Franz Hackl, and the Eddie Allen Quartet. The afternoon performances are broken up into two sets: the first one runs from noon–12:45pm, and after a 15-minute break the music continues from 1–1:45pm.  The evening performances are broken up into two sets: the first one runs from 7–7:45pm, and after a 15-minute break the music continues from 8–8:45pm.
