Enjoy the oasis of the Halifax Public Gardens, modeled after a Victorian-era garden, dotted with linden and elm trees, as well as exotic and semitropical flowers. Admire wrought-iron gates, a bandstand and fountains.
Swing by the national historic site of Province House, a Palladian-style, three-story sandstone building built in 1819 as the seat of government for Nova Scotia. Learn the story behind the construction of the Old Town Clock, and drive by St Paul’s Church, the city’s oldest building dating back to 1749.
