Light refreshments are also provided on this small group half-day tour.Your driver-guide will pick you up from your local Queenstown accommodation in one of our 4WD vehicles. Head out towards The Remarkables mountain range which was used as various mountains throughout the Lord of The Rings trilogy. Travel up to a lookout point where you have a birds eye view over Deer Park Heights, used as the filming location for the refugees of Rohan and the Battle of the Wargs scenes.
Head out to the Kawarau Gorge to see the filming location for the Pillars of the Kings and also the location for the world’s first commercial bungy operation. Travel on to Arrowtown where the loss of The One Ring at Gladden fields was filmed, before heading along to the Arrow River – a historic gold mining road. On the arrow river you will enjoy a real off road adventure and over 20 thrilling river crossings. Stop for some morning/afternoon tea beside the river and get the opportunity to try your hand at some goldpanning.
While returning towards Queenstown, travel up Coronet Peak to Skippers Saddle where you will be treated to amazing panoramic views over the Wakatipu Basin and in to Skippers Canyon. Your half day tour ends with drop-off at your local Queenstown accommodation.
