Uncover the royal and spiritual riches of Bangkok with this cultural half-day guided tour that will give you the possibility to admire the architectural masterpiece of the Grand Palace and the wonderful Wat Pho and Wat Traimit temples. Join this small group tour led by a professional local guide at 8am.The Royal Grand Palace is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok. It comprises several buildings, courtyards, temples, pagodas, gardens and even a miniature mountain. The palace was the residence of the kings of Siam from 1782 to 1925 and among the best attractions are the Funeral and Coronation halls and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, where a wonderful statue of the Gautama Buddha was carved from one piece of solid translucent jade.

Adjacent to the Grand Palace is the city’s oldest temple Wat Pho which is well known for the Reclining Buddha. This 140 feet (43 metre) long Buddha is covered in gold leaf. In this temple there are more than 1,000 images of the Lord Buddha as well as a sacred trees.

The tour will end at the Wat Traimit temple which is the home of a 5.5 tonnes solid gold Buddha. The Golden Buddha is believed to be about seven centuries old and at some point it was covered in plaster to hide his true value for centuries till it was discovered in 1954.

Please remember to wear appropriately (trousers, jeans or long knee-length skirt are permitted) to enter the temples.
