Sichuan is the hometown of giant pandas and many giant panda research bases. Statistics show that 80% of the giant panda in the world are residing in this beautiful mountainous province in southwestern China with abundance of bamboo trees which is a primary staple for endangered giant pandas. Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base is one of the most popular tour programs in Chengdu, Sichuan.You can decide when your trip will begin (you can choose any time between 8am and 3pm). Your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel for an approximately 40 minute drive to Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base. You will then tour this beautiful and expansive bamboo garden to see about 80 to100 pandas scattered around in different sections. Younger pandas tend to be more active. Watch them making adorable moves while playing and eating. There will be plenty of photo opportunities for you to snap up pictures of these adorable pandas. You will also have the opportunity to hold a baby panda in your arms for photo taking with a donation to the panda base research fund. (Note: If you wish to hold a baby panda for photo taking, please notify your tour agent in advance for reservation). Duration of this tour is roughly two hours, after which you will be transferred back to your hotel.
