Situated in the north-eastern part of Sarawak, Miri is the largest town in the state. The tour will start with a pickup at the hotel lobby and you will be taken to some of the exciting and interesting places Miri has to offer!After your hotel pickup, your tour begins with a drive through the town for an overview of its cultural history and development, passing the Chinese Temple and the Resident’s administrative office. You will see the Miri Center, Miri Resource Center, Chinese Temple, Taoist Temple, modern and trendy shopping malls, Oil/Gas Complex, Piasau Camp.

Visit the Miri Heritage Center, an arts and crafts hub. Many different ethnic groups in Northern Sarawak produce a wide variety of handicrafts ranging from the Iban Pua Kumbu cloth to Kenyah woodcarvings and Lun Bawang tree bark products. Following the Heritage Center is a visit to Canada Hill; a limestone ridge overlooking the town and offering excellent views of Miri and the surrounding area.

The historical Oil Well No. 1, known as the “Grand Old Lady”, is situated on top of Canada Hill. It was here that oil was first struck by Sarawak Shell in 1910. Nowadays the site also houses a very well designed and interesting Petroleum Museum, which traces the history and technological development of the oil and gas industries in Malaysia.

Before the tour ends, you will also visit Tamu or market where farmers sell jungle produce, vegetables, fruits and poultry.

Once the tour is complete you will be taken back to your hotel safely
