This is the perfect trip for new and experienced kayakers alike or for anyone with only a few hours to explore one of the most scenic parts of coastal British Columbia.Your half-day Sea Kayaking trip starts with either a morning or afternoon launch from Drew Harbour in the lovely Heriot Bay. Before climbing aboard you boat, each tour starts with a thorough orientation to ensure each participant remains safe and comfortable. After finishing your lesson, you will be outfitted with a life jacket and paddle and head towards the boat. Boarding the boat is easy as each ramp is fully carpeted and a friendly staff member will be available to help you into the water.
From the dock, you will paddle out towards sea in the direction of the beautiful Breton Island with a hint of snow-capped mountains visible in the distance. Seals and Sea Lions frequent the area, so keep your eyes up and scan the waves because you never know what you might see swimming by to say hello. At certain times of the year, harbor seals come to the area to give birth and you can often find moms nursing their pups along the beach.
After a short paddle to Turtle Island, you will beach your boat and have the option to rest, snack, hike or take pictures. It's a beautiful area with incredible views from the top of the hill. After resting and relaxing for a little less than an hour, it's time to get back on your kayak and paddle back to Drew Harbor.
