The tour will be led by a professional local guide. There are two departure options: the morning departure at 8:30am and afternoon tour at 1pm. The vehicle will stops at the main hotel's lobby to pick you up.You will be picked up from your hotel in Kuching and taken for an exciting half day tour to a Bidayuh longhouse to experience the uniquely traditional life of Malaysia’s native tribes. The Annah Rais Longhouse which stands on the same site where the longhouse was first built 200 years ago still stand with its unique architecture built largely of bamboo, wood and leaves.
The 1.5 hour drive will take you through the lush and scenic countryside, through rubber trees and paddy fields before arriving at a Bidayuh Longhouse, nestled on the edge of the rainforest. You will be introduced to the many families from the same tribe who live together in the longhouse, sharing a long outer communal room and open verandah made largely of bamboo where daily household chores are jointly done. See the Baruk which is a congregation place for the Bidayuh warriors. It is a circular room and looks a little like a pavilion. Artistic bamboo carvings adorn most of the interior of the longhouse.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Kuching.
