This half-day private tour takes you to Yuantong Temple located on the skirt of Loufengshan Mountain which is also known as Yuantong Mountain near downtown Kunming. The temple bears a long history of more than 1,200 years and is considered as the grandest and most important Buddhist temple in Yunnan Province. Continue to the Western Hill which resembles a reclining girl lying along the shore of Dianchi Lake with her long hair flowing down into the lake. At 9am, you will be picked up from your downtown Kunming hotel to visit Yuantong Temple which is the largest Buddhist temple in Kunming with a history of more than 1,200 years. It is located on the south side of Yuantong Hill. Famed for its grand architecture and design, Yuantong Temple was first built by Nanzhao Kingdom in Tang Dynasty followed with two major restorations and expansion in the Ming Dynasty (1465-1487) and the Qing Dynasty (1686) which gave the present look of covered corridors, bridges, and grand halls.

Next, you will tour Dragon Gate in Western Hill dwelling by beautiful Dianchi Lake. The Western Hill is located at the west bank of Dianchi Lake. It is a slew of five mountain ranges covered by evergreen forest stretching over 25 miles (40 kilometers) long, and the highest point of the hill is over 8,200 feet (2,500 meter) above sea level. The Dragon Gate is near the top of the mountain where a conglomerate of grottoes, sculptures, corridors, and pavilions hacked from the cliff between 1781 A.D and 1835 A.D. by Taoist monks. After your visit to Dragon Gate, you will be transferred back to your Hotel in Kunming where this tour concludes.
