This is wonderfully rewarding trip for anyone with the morning free in Athens.After pickup at your hotel at around 9am we travel south through some of Athens pretty southern suburbs before continuing towards the coastal road and Saronic gulf coast with its wonderful open sea views. During this drive you'll get the chance to relax as your guide points out many historical aspects of the city along the way. After just under an hour you'll start to see glimpses of the cape and its monument high above on the cliff edge as you finally turn toward the modern visitors area. From here you'll enter the impressive site to learn of its mythology, history, cultural prominence and significance in the ancient world.
As a unique geographical vantage point there is plenty of time to wonder at the magnificent views surrounding you on 3 sides of the site which extend far out to the islands of Kea and the Peloponnese. After absorbing the views and taking many memorable images you may also take time to stop for lunch or drinks at the modern visitors center.
