Our guide and driver will pick you up for this 3.5 hour tour along Nha Trang’s famed sights and sounds.
Our morning (or afternoon) starts with hotel pickup and a visit to the National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam. Founded in 1923, the institute is home to many colorful specimens of local marine life. It has an aquarium, a specimen room and a library that is open to public. Located behind the main building, the large hall preserves hundreds of interesting specimens of sea birds and fish, corals and remains of other marine creatures.
Following this insight in the aquatic part of Nha Trang, the Long Son Pagoda is a sight that cannot be missed. The entrance and roofs of this late 19th century Pagoda are decorated with mosaic dragons made of glass and ceramic tile. From the pagoda, those more energetic will have the chance to climb the 152 stone steps leading to the giant white Buddha seated on a lotus blossom. There are superb views of the whole city from the platforms around the Buddha (14 meters high), which was built in 1963.
Following this interesting stop, we pay homage at the Po Nagar Cham Towers in our next Nha Trang site, a sacred Hindu site dating back to the 2nd century AD. The towers were built between the 7th and 12th centuries and today, it is still a place of pilgrimage for Cham and Vietnamese Buddhists. The towers are named in honor of the former Cham Princess who introduced her people to profitable weaving and wet rice cultivation techniques.
Our tour ends at the Dam market in the center of Nha Trang - one of Vietnams' most interesting local markets. There's a colorful selection of local produce. Fruit, vegetables and seafood are the most common but you will also see dried seahorses and lizards - popular specialties of Nha Trang!
