This village shows you the everyday village life on the lake as well as an opportunity to explore the nearby flooded forest. Although only 6 miles (9km) from Siem Reap, this village has few tourists as few tour operators go here making this a special tour to be able to see this traditional village in all its splendor.Your professional local guide will pick you up from your hotel or guesthouse in Siem Reap and take you a short distance to the Meychrey Floating Village in an air conditioned mini-van. Traveling the 6 miles to the village you will see the busy Siem Reap town disappear behind you to be quickly replaced by rural Cambodia. You will see villages, rice paddies and Cambodians going about their daily routine of farming and fishing.

On arrival at Meychrey, you will transfer to a boat that will take you through the village and area where houses, shops and schools all sit floating on the water. Your guide will tell you about its people, industries, and the history while you cruise along. You will see stilted houses and the only non-floating building, the local Pagoda. This area is seldom visited by tourists unlike the busier Chong Khneas so this will give you a unique, more peaceful and immersive experience in the everyday life on the lake in Cambodia. You will also take a short trip out to see the nearby flooded forest where you can row through on a small boat before returning to land where you'll be dropped off to your hotel or guest house.
