Spend four hours touring the magnificent temples of Luang Prabang with your experienced guide. Visit Vat Xieng Thong, Vat Mai and climb Mount Phousi for a beautiful, panoramic view of the city. End your tour at The National Museum where you can see a collection of personal artifacts of the royal family as well as the famed Phra Bang Buddha image.Your guide and driver for this half day tour will pick you up from your hotel in the city center.

This tour will take you to some of the most famous and well-known temples and sights that have been the foundation of the city’s popularity. Depending on the location of your hotel, this tour commonly starts at the Vat Xieng Thong. The most beautiful details are the walls of the temple, decorated with delicate gold patterns on a maroon background.

Continue your trip though Luang Prabang, by visiting the Vat Mai (short for its official name - Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham), the largest and most richly decorated of all the temples in Luang Prabang.

Next, see the town from the highest point, Mount Phousi. Also known as the Sacred Mountain, it is the geographical as well as the spiritual center of the city. It is topped by a golden stupa (officially called the That Chomsi), which is striking from a distance and is the first sight of the city that arriving visitors will gaze upon. It is a steep climb to the top, but the view is spectacular and most definitely worth it.

End your tour at The National Museum (former Royal Palace) which was built between 1904 and 1909 as a residence for King Sisavangvong. The famed Phra Bang Buddha image is enshrined here as well as a collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including the royal throne of the Lan Xang Kingdom.

After 4 hours of touring Luang Prabang’s famed sights and temples, you will be returned to your hotel or resort in the city center.
