Explore the unique landscapes of China and learn more about Sichuan culture. See what makes Chengdu the land of abundance through this bike tour. This one-day bike tour starts at the Nongke village in Pixian County, which is considered to be the origin of village tourism in China. Located only 28 miles (45 kilometers) away from Chengdu, Pixian County is a typical representation of rural life in the west of Sichuan plain. Cycling through the Sichuan countryside is like journeying into the past, where you can enjoy scenes of rural life untouched by Chengdu's progressive development. You will be picked up from your hotel in Chengdu by your driver and guide. After an hour-long drive from downtown Chengdu, we will arrive to a small village in Pixian, which is the starting point for our cycling tour. The cycle track we will be riding on is called Pixian County Cycle Greenway and it is the most popular cycling track in Chengdu. This track goes along the Jiang'an River, which is part of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and crosses local villages, bamboo forests, and orchards. Since it is exclusively paved for cyclists, this guarantees our cycling journey to be safe and comfortable.

Sichuan cuisine is renowned throughout China for spiciness and tongue-numbing sensations, but also for its unique and delicious taste from a blend of flavors and colors. The fiery flavors for which Sichuan is generally known for are only the beginning of its tantalizing culinary wealth. The Sichuan Cuisine Museum looks into the history of Chinese cuisine and its origins. For example, originally introduced to China by South America at the end of the 17th century, hot pepper became a favorite ingredient for cooks in Sichuan because it provided relief from the region's humid and rainy climate.

After our afternoon cycle tour in the village, we move to Sichuan Cuisine Museum to learn about the history and culture of spicy food. Experience the typical Sichuanese relaxed lifestyle by sipping a cup of tea before going back to downtown Chengdu.
