There are many stories about why Hong Kong (literally “Fragrant Habor”) is so named. One of which was about a stream with fragrant water. Although there is no conclusion on the authenticity of these tales, the origin of the fragrant stream can still be found. It lies on an old village at Pok Fu Lam, which connects to many "Hong Kong firsts" -- the first reservoir, the first bible in South East Asia, the first university, the first horse racing, the first bauhinia found, the first dairy farm, etc. However, its existence is threatened by urban development. In exploration of the benevolent atmosphere of the old village, the heritage walk exhibits the unique history of Hong Kong Island which has almost been forgotten.
At 8:30am, your tour guide will meet you at departure point, and then you will take a ride on the Peak Tram (it began as a coal-fired tramway in 1888, and was electrically powered by 1926) to Lugard Road on the Peak where the most scenic promenade at 400m above, built a century ago, with bountiful flora of species and historic monuments en route. After enjoying the great view at the Peak, you will take bus to Pok Fu Lam, and you will have some snacks or homemade dim sum at the old village there.
When your tour is finished, and you and your tour guide will take bus back to Admiralty MTR station.
