Trieste, in the 19th century, was the most important and prosperous port of the Habsburg Monarchy and has been the fourth largest city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire after Vienna, Budapest and Prague.The tour begins in Piazza della Libertà where you can see the statue of princess Elisabeth of Austria. Here you will have a walking tour of the center before heading to the Miramare Castle.
After, your transfer to Miramare Castle will be by minivan or car. The Castle is a wonderful example of the Austro-Hungarian 19th-century romanticism almost touching the sea. The rooms of the castle are preserved by their period furnishings. Take a short walk along the park that includes a wide range of botanical species. Later, transfer to the heart of Habsburg heritage in town: Triest Piazza Unità d'Italy, Piazza della Borsa dominated by the statue of Leopold I, Piazza Sant’Antonia, and the Theresian district that had a large impact on economic development under the Habsburg Empire.
