Pick up at 7 am to see Mutianyu, the most beautiful section of the Great Wall in Beijing and less touristy. It is about 85 km northeast of Beijing which takes around 1.5 hours by car. The name is a literal translation of three Chinese characters: Mu means to long for; Tian means field and Yu means valley. All together means the formers who lived in this valley used to long for more fields to plant something. The Great Wall at Mutianyu was built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), on the remnants of a Wall originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Built mainly from granite, the pass at Mutianyu is an appropriately unique section of the Great Wall. With a height of 7 to 8 meters, and width of 4 to 5 meters, as well as crenellations on both sides of the Wall, the section of the Wall at Mutianyu stretches for more than 2.5 kilometers.

After 2-3 hours hiking on the Wall, your tour guide would take you to a nearby restaurant which is famous for roast rainbow trout and some other dishes.

Relax on the way back your hotel after lunch.
