Your Grand Cayman shore excursion starts with pickup at the George Town cruise terminal for the drive to the Cracked Conch, a waterfront eatery on the northwestern tip of Grand Cayman. Here, meet your bike tour guide, an island expert full of fun facts and stories to share about the Cayman Islands and their history.
Strap on your provided helmet, hop on your bike and follow your guide on a loop around the West Bay, a district of Grand Cayman just north of the island’s famous Seven Mile Beach. Go off the beaten path as you pedal down back roads and beach trails at an easy pace. Admire views of Boatswain Bay and pristine Barker’s National Park; cruise by attractions like the Cayman Motor Museum and the Cayman Turtle Farm; and keep your eyes open for pelicans, iguanas or other wildlife.
Make a stop at the distinctive red post office located in Hell, the name given to a formation of limestone rocks, where you can send a ‘postcard from Hell’ to your friends back home. You’ll have chances to rest your legs as you take breaks at four of Grand Cayman’s popular beachfront restaurants and bars, such as Alfresco Restaurant and Cobalt Coast (any food and drinks are at your own expense).
During the bike tour, your guide will introduce you to locals and tell you a bit about the Caymans’ fishing heritage. Your tour ends at the starting point, from where you can be transferred back to the port.
The 9.5-mile (15-km) traffic-free route is flat and suitable for all levels of biking.
