Only 79 km from Sofia, the Erma’s River Gorge offers more than just relaxation and a breath of fresh mountain air, but also an opportunity for various sports. Rocks in the gorge are quite high, probably over 80-100 meters. Erma Gorge eco foot path is 13 kilometers long and takes about 8 hours. Do not imagine, however, a wide plateau. There are those, but most of the time the road is steep and narrow. Places are built earth steps and picturesque wooden bridges, where it can be seen as mere gorge and turbulent waters of Erma. Western Bulgaria has the charm of timeless picture. Small picturesque villages preserved the look and traditions, hospitable people, ready to welcome anyone with open heart and to share with him his love of his native land.

Your adventure will start from Sofia at noon. You will travel to the town of Tran, which is located about 70 km from Sofia. The town is small and is located in the western hills of the Balkan. The villages around the city are small, sparsely populated and maintained its authenticity. You will be accommodated in a guesthouse in the area and will have dinner with homemade local cuisine.
Day 2 - Breakfast. Walking and climbing - 13 km - 8 hours. Lunch in the Nature. Dinner and a good sleep.
The second day you will start early, around 7:30 am. After breakfast you will head to the beginning of the eco-trail "Erma River Gorge". The route is with medium level of difficulty, it’s 13 km long, takes about 8 hours and includes walking, climbing, downhill, passing through a tunnel, crossing a rope bridges and wooden walkways. There are some earth steps built and picturesque wooden bridges, where it can be seen as mere gorge and turbulent waters of Erma. Lunch will be in the nature and dinner back at the guest house.
Day 3 - Breakfast. Museum of Bulgarian yogurt, museum of ceramic of Businci village, monastery of Zemen. Accommodation and dinner.
The third day of your adventure will meet you with ordinary people on the western outskirts of Bulgaria. After breakfast you will head towards the village of “Cold Spring”, where was born discoverer of the bacterium “Laktus Bacillus Bulgaricus”, which is "to blame" for yogurt. In his honor the museum of yogurt is made in this small village. There you will learn more about this natural gift, which Bulgaria is very proud of. Then you will visit the village Busintsi and the Museum of Businci pottery. Pottery has a unique vision and the museum has a workshop in which optionally you can make some own pottery. Lunch is at a local restaurant with authentic cuisine. At the end of the day you will visit the town of Zemen and the medieval monastery near the city. In the region of Zemen will have dinner and spend the night in a guesthouse.
Day 4 - Breakfast. "Pchelina" dam and church. Lunch; Return to Sofia
Your adventure in the 'Wild West' will end with a trip to the dam Pchelina and visit the medieval chapel of St. John Letni, built in 1365. Chapel has a rich history and is built on the rocky shore of the today’s dam. You will have lunch in nature and you will go back to Sofia in the late afternoon.
