Enjoy this Broadwater, Main Beach to The Seaway 4-hour self-guided bike tour. Explore this magnificent stretch of coastline through bushland along the sandy beach. Hidden secret of the Gold Coast not well known by visitors. This is a self-guided 4-hour tour and although it starts and finishes at a specified time, you will be given a map and a written detailed itinerary to follow at your own pace. No guide to follow, no group to keep up with, enjoy the route and feel free to stop and stay at the various points of interest.
Your tour starts at Main Beach and first takes you through Macintosh Island Park, a great park in the middle of Surfers Paradise, a sanctuary for a picnic with large trees providing excellent shade options. The cascading stream running through the park is home to several birds, and gives a tranquil atmosphere.

Next, a pleasant crossing over the suspended bridge to the beautiful Narrowneck beach on the way to the Spit. Your ride passes the Southport Surf Live Saving with its old Spanish Mission pavilion (1934).

From there follow the esplanade North along the white sandy beach towards the Seaway through the Federation Walk Coastal Reserve, a subtle mix of habitats including littoral rainforest, native grasslands, pockets of wetland and home to a variety of lizards, snakes, frogs, and an impressive diversity of birdlife. At the tip of the Seaway rock wall enjoy a spectacular view of the coastline from its lighthouse. Along the way there is plenty of opportunities to stop for a swim in the ocean, where the beach is very quiet away from the crowds of Surfers Paradise.

Return is via the Broadwater side of the Spit past the stadium, a peaceful sheltered bay popular with yachts. Then ride past SeaWorld and the Fishermen’s Co-Operative trawler base. The best place to get the freshest prawns (shrimps) directly from the boat for a snack on the beach. Then maybe a stop at Marina Mirage for a spot of luxury shopping.

Next the tour crosses the bridge over the Nerang river and takes you through the Gold Coast's world class Broadwater Parklands which offers a range of diverse locations and facilities. The centrally located Parklands not only offers magnificent views and wide open spaces featuring the spectacular backdrop of the Surfers Paradise skyline. The Rockpools is an exciting sculptural water playground with cool water fountains and vibrant marine-themed equipment for children to splash, dam and explore.

Further north following the Western side of the Broadwater along the esplanade the Tour leads you to Ian Dipple Lagoon, a sandbar protected swimming area, which is a great place to enjoy a nice swim in the shallow calm waters, or play in the sand. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic lunch or enjoy a take away of freshly cooked fish and chips from famous Charis Seafood shop. Make sure to arrive on time for 1.30pm every day for the Pelicans’ feeding, when hundreds of wild Pelicans assemble on the beach where the staff of Charis Seafood throw out their leftover fish, to feed the Pelicans

Then it is time to return to Main Beach (departure point) via the Broadwater Parklands.
