The glacier hike and glacier lagoon boat ride tour is a combination tour including a 5 hour glacier hike on Falljökull Glacier as well as a scenic boat ride tour on Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Falljökull Glacier is an outlet glacier from the voluminous Vatnajökull Glacier ice cap. The tour starts off in Skaftafell National Park where you will meet your certified glacier guide. The tour then heads onto Falljökull where the glacier hiking will take place. After exploring Falljökull Glacier you will then be dropped off back in Skaftafell allowing an hour for you to complete the journey to the lagoon. Your day starts at a hut in Skaftafell National Park, where you will meet your certified glacier guide and be provided with all necessary glacier equipment for your adventure. A short 15-minute bus ride will then follow with scenic views including the peaks of Skaftafell National Park before reaching Falljökull Glacier, which is one of the glacier tongues of Europe’s biggest glacier, Vatnajökull. After a short hike through the glacier valley, you will enter the Falljökull's icy surface. Your guide will then lead you around the glacier's crevasses and glacier mills towards the ice fall. The shining blue color and tremendous size of the glacier must be experienced first hand.
After your glacier hiking adventure you will then need to drive for about 40 minutes to Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon where the wonders of Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon will await you.
