On our way, we’ll start from driving through the Galilee to visit Nazareth. This relatively small city is the cradle of Christianity, where the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ had lived. We’ll start our tour from visiting the Church of the Annunciation at the traditional site of Mary’s home. Here, it is believed, the archangel Gabriel told Mary, that she would become the mother of the Son of God.
One next stop is The St. Joseph Church, where, according to tradition, used to be the carpentry workshop of Joseph, father of Jesus.
We’ll further proceed to The Synagogue Church. According to the tradition where, one memorable Sabbath day, Jesus stood to proclaim and preach the stirring words of Isaiah, to declare himself as the Messiah.
And, finally, we’ll pass through Nazareth’s Old City local market, which has become a popular and well-known attraction thanks to the colorful stalls and the variety of merchandise.
After leaving Nazareth, we shall make a short stop in Kfar Cana, where Jesus performs His first miracle by changing water into wine at a marriage feast in Cana. From Kfar Cana we’ll continue towards the Sea of Galilee, stopping briefly at the beautiful church at the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of Jesus' ‘Sermon on the Mount’ and view the Sea of Galilee from the foothills of the Upper Galilee.
We’ll continue to the Church at Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes. We’ll further take a short walk along the Tabha-Capernaum promenade, to “Mensa Christi”, the traditional site of the events described in the Gospels – Jesus cooking breakfast for the disciples, the miraculous catching of fish and Peter’s reconciliation.
We’ll proceed from Tabgha to Capernaum, a remnant of the once thriving Jewish community from the 2nd century and where Jesus began His ministry, to view its ancient Synagogue and the home of St. Peter.
And finally, we’ll drive through the city of Tiberias to Yardenit, to experience the spirituality and pastoral beauty of the waters of the River Jordan, in which Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
