Known as La Candelaria, which was declared National Monument in 1963 and is composed by the old neighborhoods of La Cathedral, Egipto and La Concordia. The area preserves the buildings built in the XVI century and its steep stone paved streets with Colonial names. The tour starts in the Chorro de Quevedo Square, passing by the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History, the Cultural Center Gabriel García Márquez, la Casa de la Moneda, The Botero Museum, Colon Theater, the Museum of Colonial Art, The San Ignacio Church, The Plaza Bolivar, The Santa Clara Church Museum, La Casa de Nariño, The San Augustine Cloister and The Golden Museum which exhibits about 34,000 pieces of metalwork from various Hispanic cultures.
Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant before you continue your visit to la Quinta de Bolivar, former home of Simon Bolivar. The day will end at Monserrate Hill rising up to 3,152 above sea level, to visit the sanctuary where you will find the statue of the Lord of Miracles. From there it is possible to enjoy the best view of Bogota.
Transfer back to your hotel is provided at the end of the tour.
