The day tour leads you to embark on the boat to visit the Cai Be floating market for some tropical fruits as well as to meet and talk to the local sellers right on boats. Transferring from the center of Ho Chi Minh City at 7:00am, you will reach Cai Be at 9:30 AM. You will be picked up at the first stop-over at Cao Dai Temple Cai Be. Which stands as a simple to the local's unique religion and then the Cai Be Cathedral.
After that, you will embark on the boat to visit the inland and floating markets of Cai Be to observe the daily life of local people as well to see the differences in the two markets. You will buy fresh tropical fruits right at locals own boats and have the chance to talk to them and learn more about their own culture along with their daily life.
Leaving the market, you will continue with a hand-rowing boat tour to discover the exciting Mekong river life. The small boat will travel through the tiny canals and lead to some interesting spots.
After that, you will head back to the main tourist boat and transfer to our Mekong Rustic (located on Tan Phong Island) where you can take a short rest, have a drink and taste the local fresh fruits.
Next, you will cycle around Tan Phong Island to visit the traditional handicraft workshops of handbags, rice papers, and wooden tables and chairs. On schooldays you will be able to see the local village school. Stop at a local farmer's house to savor a cup of tea and local specialties like banana candies. You can try plucking the fruits at the host's garden and talk to him to understand how local farmers take care of their gardens.
Saying goodbye to the hospitable host, you keep on biking to the bang conical hat (nón bàng) workshop. You will cycle back to Mekong Rustic Restaurant for lunch with local food and break before embarking on boat to leave Tan Phong Island for the pier to head back to Ho Chi Minh City at 5:30pm.
