Join this full-day tour for the chance to visit the unique Maeklong Railway Market (Rom Hub Market). Unlike any other, this market is located on the tracks of an active railway! Also on this tour is a visit to the well-known Amphawa Floating Market. Enjoy browsing through the fresh produce and perhaps pickup a few souvenirs along the way.Your day will begin with a pickup from your Bangkok hotel. From here, you will proceed to Rom Hub Market which is located approximately 1-hour outside of Bangkok at Mae Klong Railway Station.
Rom Hub Market is located right on the tracks of an active railway line. Oncoming trains will sound the horn loudly to warn the vendors to clear the way. All the vendors will quickly fold away their umbrellas or awnings and remove their containers and goods placed close to the tracks. Many vendors use the stalls equipped with wheels so that they can slide them out of the way. One the train has passed they will restore the market to its former glory and you will soon forgot you’re even on a railway track.
After this you will travel to the vibrant Amphawa Floating Market. Amphawa is the second most popular floating market near Bangkok. Located 50km from the city, this once small village was apparently already present in the mid-Seventeenth Century. It has become such a magnet for Thai weekenders that food stalls have grown from the riverbanks and stretched far into the surrounding streets.
At the end of the tour you will return to your hotel safely.
