If you're interested in the history, religion and other cultural aspects of Shanghai, this is the perfect tour for you. You will visit a range of cultural sites and experience some of the natural beauty of Shanghai along with some of its rich historical sites (such as temples, parks, rivers, town squares, local shops, and more). The tour departure time is flexible, if you choose to start the tour from the afternoon, your lunch time will be changed to dinner time.

In the morning (or at your desired time) your tour guide will meet you in your hotel lobby. Then you will start this 8-hour cultural tour of Shanghai.
You will start your cultural adventure at Fuxing Park, a French park where you can experience everything from grannies singing opera to popular square dancing. You will continue to walk along the former French concession area to explore what Shanghai felt like during its first heyday in the early 1900's including a visit to 7 Xiangshan Road, the former residence of Sun Yat-sen, modern China's founding father whose house contains period furniture and books. From there, you'll visit a famous Buddhist temple and see the history or Buddhism in China first hand at the Jade Buddha Temple, which is famed for 2 Jade statues of Sakyamuni.

For lunch you will casually enjoy some local cuisine at a Chinese ethnic restaurant (at your own expense). In the afternoon, you will briefly visit People's Square, including the Shanghai Museum - one of the best museums in China which is famous of its bronzeware collection, and the traditional furniture gallery and ancient Chinese minority items collection. Along the way you will visit the Bird and Flower Market where you can mingle with locals and see some of the beautiful fauna and local culture of Shanghai.

From here, a short walk leads you to East Nanjing Rd, the number 1 pedestrian street that is blocked off from all automobile traffic to allow a feast of shops and restaurants food. Here you can enjoy shopping, local snacks and great people-watching.

To enjoy the end of the day, you will round out the tour with a relaxing cruise on the Huangpu River - the mother river of Shanghai. This hour-long trip will provide amazing views on both sides of Shanghai. The major attractions on this tour include:
