Ol Pejeta conservancy is the closest place for you to come and see the big 5 (the endangered black rhinos, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and lions). It also boasts an astounding variety of other animals, including the non-indigenous at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary was established with an agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute. The aim is to provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. Over the last decade, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary has been compelled to keep accepting chimpanzees rescued from traumatic situations - bringing the total number of chimpanzees in the sanctuary to 42.

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning a proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Game Reserve. You will visit the chimp sanctuary first, then enjoy a game drive in the park where you can see reticulated giraffes, zebras, African elephants, cape buffalo, warthogs, lions, leopards, and many, many more. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded there, including the ostrich.

Lunch will be served at one of the lodges in the game sanctuary, then it is followed by a visit to a rhino homestead.

After this, you will have a chance to visit a manyatta, a replica of Kenyan tribesmen's traditional homesteads and sample their culture. The Masai, Pokot, Turkana, and Samburu men and women invite you into their homes and sell their traditional wares, show off their ritual dances and introduce you to their lifestyle.

You will then head back to Nairobi for a drop off at your hotel.
