On our way to Holuhraun lava we will travel through moonlike landscape across the Icelandic mountains. We will see how people lived in the beginning of the 20th century and experience the extreme power of glacier river.
Just before we come to Holuhraun lava we stop in an area where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin practiced before there moonwalk.
When the eruption was at Holuhraun the lava made its way over nearby river where now you can find one of the biggest natural, temporary, hot spring in the world. It’s like sitting in a Jacuzzi, in the warm river. It’s only temporary because it’s heated up by the warmth from the lava. Don’t miss out on this magical opportunity.
After the visit to Holuhraun lava we will drive across the biggest dam in Iceland witch is 200 meters high.
From there we continue to Laugafell highland hostel were we can have dinner and/or take a bath in one of the famous Icelandic natural hot springs before heading back home.
