Spend a day getting acquainted with the culture and history of Ha Long city on this inland tour; visit a local seafood market, climb a mountain for magnificent views of Ha Long Bay, see a historical Pagoda, the largest church in Quang Ninh Province and learn about Ha Long history at a museum.

We will pick you up at your hotel (optional early tour with a 5:00 wake-up for sunrise view and early return) and start our day with a visit to the vibrant seafood market where you can find all kinds of fresh seafood. After that, we will visit Bai Tho Mountain. At 186 meters high, the mountain is accessible by land or water and offers a magnificent view of the shimmering water, endless sky and the amazing islands that are scattered across the Ha Long Bay. It is the perfect place to relax and take in the view. The mountain appears to be formed from three peaks that reach high into the sky and resembles a beautiful castle. At the base lies Long Tien Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Ha Long City. Built in 1941, Long Tien is a favorite site amongst travellers. It was built as a Buddhist Temple, but it also has altars dedicated to the warriors of the Tran Dynasty and to the Holy Mother of Three Palaces. The last visit of the day is to Hon Gai Church. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the church is located on a high hilltop overlooking the city of Ha Long. Hon Gai was destroyed by the war in 1972 but rebuilt and expanded and is now the largest church in Quang Ninh Province. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon we will visit Quang Ninh Provincial Museum (closed on weekends) exhibiting the early cultures of the Ha Long, Ly and Tran Dynasties. The museum feature also exhibits about Quang Ninh's ethnic groups, history of the region's coal industry, as well as many exhibits about war and revolution. Over the last 40 years, the museum has worked tirelessly to preserve over 10,000 artifacts.
