Also, you will visit an estuary to get a closer look at seabird species. On this 10-hour day tour, you will encounter and be able to photograph several bird species which may include Kingfishers, African Fish Eagle, Warblers, Grebes, Coots, African Jacana, African purple Swamphen, Harriers, Knysna Loerie, Cape White-eye, Woodpeckers, Cape Bulbul, Swallows, Herons, African Paradise Flychatcher, Gull, Tern, Cormorants, Thick-Knee, Lapwing, Cape Weaver, Sunbirds, Cape Sugerbird, Starlings, Fiscals, Egrets and African Black Oystercatcher just to name a few. There are more than 50 bird species which can be spotted in their natural habitat.
After pickup at your hotel, you will set out to explore two out of three bird hides. Later, you will take canoe transport along the Touws and Serpentine Rivers, in the wilderness section of Garden Route National Park, with your local expert guide to get up close to some great Kingfisher species like the Malachite Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher and the beautiful Half-Collared Kingfisher. In the late afternoon, visit one of three local river estuaries to get a closer look at seabird species of the Garden Route.
