Start this early morning tour after being picked up by your bird watching guide and private chauffeur in your Pune city hotel lobby, or at the cities airport. Bhigwan is a small village around 62 miles (100 kms) away from Pune, and the drive takes about 2-hours. Pune is also referred to as the “Bharatpur of Maharashtra”, as it is a hotbed of migratory birds during the winter. Bhigwan is a small town located at the end of the huge Yashwant Sagar reservoir, forming the backwaters of the Ujain dam.
Some of the famous birds you will see are, the ruddy shelducks (Brahminy ducks), the Ciconia episcopus, a large stork, the black drongo, the eurasian spoonbill, the red-naped Ibis, pratincole (Glareola lactea), spotted owlets, (Athene brama) and many more.

Bhuleshwar has historical significance as it is the place where Devi Parvati danced for Lord Shiva and after they went to Kailas and get married.
