Baan Chang Elephant Park is dedicated to provide elephants with the highest quality-of-life possible. The location of the park was chosen to provide a natural habitat and the park has always positioned against the practice of elephant painting or dancing.
Baan Chang’s goal is to teach visitors about the importance of elephant preservation and care, from eating, sleeping, bathing, and exercising methods.Around 8am we pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai town. We drive through agricultural Thai countryside North of Chiang Mai for one hour to Baan Chang Elephant Park where you learn how to be a Mahout (Elephant caretaker).
At the Park, the Elephant Mahout Guide will introduce you to the elephants. You will learn how to approach and feed them, and how you guide and ride them.
Around 12pm we stop for a hearty lunch and get ready for an afternoon of fun, experiencing all you have leaned that morning.
You will sit on the back of the Elephant and try to control him during the ride through the beautiful forest and country side for about 90 minutes. Remember as well how to guide the Elephant into the river where the fun continues! There you will get new skills in bathing and washing your Elephant.
From the river bank, the guide will take some picture of you while you take care in bathing your elephant, to make sure the memory of this fabulous day does not go away. After returning to the main hut from the river, have a rest and enjoy some coffee and tea.
Around 3.30pm it will be time to say goodbye to your lovely Elephants and Baan Chang Elephant Park Family. We then return you to your Chiang Mai hotel.
