4:00 am pick-up from the hotel. We will travel along a paved road to the community of Pitumarca approximately two and half hours away before turning onto a dirt road for another 45 minutes until we reach its end and our beginning. After stretching our legs a bit and having a light breakfast, we will start our walk towards the Mountain of Colours. The first half of our walk is a 9km ascent to a height of 5029m.a.s.l (16500ft) which should take between 3.5 to 4 hours of walking depending on our pace. This section will vary from moderate to very difficult. Once we get there we will be treated to unparalleled views and a huge sense of accomplishment. We will stay long enough to take it in and take some photos before heading back to lower altitudes and warmer climes. On the way back we will be able to take a bit more time to see the glacial lagoons where we will stop for lunch and to appreciate the wide-open landscapes of the area before arriving back to our starting point. Our driver will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, arriving at 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
