In this 12-hour tour we will discover one of the most breathtaking landscapes that Salta offers “La Quebrada de las Conchas”. This amazing experience gives you the opportunity to try some delicious goat cheese and wine.
Your tour starts heading south through the Provincial Route 68, where you will be able to see Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, Coronel Moldes and La Viña, all of which make up the Valley of Lerma, an agricultural and farming area whose main production is tobacco. This is why you will see tobacco chimneys; both the old ones, made of adobe clay and the modern ones. We will also see the tobacco leaves spread over wire fences being dried under the sun.
After going through the farming area mentioned above we will stop in Posta de las Cabras, a goat farm, where you can see different breeds of goat and taste various goat cheeses. Afterwards, we will pass Alemania Town, and in this part of the tour you will witness red mountains and natural rock formations. The most important ones are the Devil´s Throat, the Amphitheater, the House of the Parrots, the Castles, the Titanic, the Windows, the Obelisk and the Friar. In Cafayate Tow we will visit one or two wineries, to learn and discover the secrets of Salta´s Wines, mainly the well-known Torrontes variety.
After lunch, you will head back to Salta City, via the Route 68 and you will see a completely different landscape from the one you will have seen in the morning.
