This day tour will include visits to various beautiful and cultural sites, including Cueva Ventana, Arecibo, Cueva del Indio and La Placita de Santurce. A local guide and hotel pick up and drop off are included in this tour. The tour will begin with an hour drive from San Juan to Cueva Ventana (Window Cave). After a short hike, you will enter a large, natural cave situated on top of a limestone cliff in Arecibo. Taino Indians once inhabited the cave and today, Cueva Ventana houses 3 different species of bats! From the window you overlook the magnificent Río Grande de Arecibo valley, a breathtaking view!
After this adventure, the tour will continue to Cueva del Indio (Indian Cave), situated along the ocean. Here you'll experience beautiful, scenic views and if desired, climb down a ladder to find cave drawings that tell an incredible story about the original inhabitants of the island. If you are looking for more of an adrenaline rush, you can jump off the cliffs when the water is relatively calm!
Note that this day involves some gentle rock/ladder ‘clambering,’ a low level skill activity where closed shoes are required. Due to the nature of this tour, the age limit is 60 years old without limit mobility.
