Named K’Gari — paradise — by the local Aboriginal people, Fraser Island was formed over the millennia by sand that drifted from mainland Australia. It boasts miles of pristine beaches, coastal mangrove forests, sheltered coves and the world’s only rainforest that grows in sand.
Your guided Jet Ski tour to Fraser Island starts with a thorough safety briefing and lesson on operating the Jet Ski. You’ll be riding top-quality Yamaha VX Deluxe Wave Runners powered by 1,100 cc engines that provide a comfortable, smooth ride. You can ride solo, or partner up with a friend and ride double. Groups are limited to eight people in order to provide a more personalized experience.
All tours depart from Hervey Bay and cross the Great Sandy Strait to Fraser Island. Once you reach the island, your guide leads you to pretty bays and inlets, remote white-sand beaches, and great snorkeling spots. On the water, you might spot marine wildlife such as sea turtles, dolphins, sea birds, or even a large dugong (akin to the manatee) if you’re lucky. Your guide shares informative and entertaining commentary throughout the tour, and can offer tips to improve your Jet Ski technique. Enjoy breaks for photo ops, snorkeling, swimming, and, on longer tours, a visit to a beachside resort for refreshments (own expense).
