Then enjoy an insider’s tour through the back streets of the city to discover three of the oldest pubs in London.
Emirates Stadium – home to Arsenal Football Club
The Emirates Stadium in North London is home to Arsenal Football Club, the stadium is the third largest in Britain and can host over 60,000 fans. Go behind the scenes at Arsenal Football Club with your tour of Emirates Stadium. Take your seat in the changing room, walk down the tunnel, sit in the dugout and imagine the roar of those 60,000 fans. Immerse yourself in the history of Arsenal Football Club and follow the story of the Club's formation in 1886 right through to the present day.
Historic Pubs of London
There are few more quintessentially English experiences than enjoying a pint of ale in a centuries-old public house. This unique tour takes you to some of London’s best – between them they have survived the Great Fire of London, Second World War bombs and post-war modernisation: the walls could certainly tell you stories.
Your guide will explain the origins of the great British pub – from the original Roman ‘tabernae’, to ale-houses, taverns and coaching inns. Learn about the Campaign for Real Ale which is dedicated to keeping alive Britain’s unique ales, ciders and perries as well as the preservation of community pubs and consumer rights.
London Pub 1: Craft Beer Co- Time for refreshments and where better than to try some traditional 'Craft Beer' at a local pub servicing traditionally brewed beer. A chance to sample two types of beer, and learn about the brewing process.
London Pub 2: Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese- Into the city of London to visit Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese dating back to 1538, rebuilt in 1667 after the Great Fire of London. It is said to have been a frequent haunt of Charles Dickens, who drew some of his characters from the pub's regular drinkers. A notice by the front door lists the monarchs who have reigned during the pub's lifetime.
London Pub 3: The Sherlock Holmes- The third pub is The Sherlock Holmes close to Trafalgar Square. Here you can enjoy a drink and maybe a snack whilst enjoying the pub's great secret… a complete recreation of Holmes and Watson's study and sitting room with a large collection of objects and photographs related to the characters from the books and adaptations.
Tour Finishes at the Sherlock Holmes Pub, just off Trafalgar Square
