Because Florence is more than Michelangelo’s David; come and discover it!A 2 hours guided tour through the Florence's Archaeological Museum along our official archaeologist guide! We will delight you with the secrets and entertaining anecdotes that only our professional guides know.
We have prepared two different itineraries: the first one is very kid-friendly (and for non-specialists) and it does a fun and entertaining itinerary through the most famous Roman, Greek and Egyptian artifacts of the Museum. The second one instead gives a deeper and technical archaeological information. You can choose the one that suits you best directly with your guide.
This museum was founded straight after the French-Tuscan expedition by Champollion, the deciphered of hieroglyphics. The museum houses an important collection of Etruscan art, including the famous Chimera, as well as Egyptian artifacts (which can only be seen here and in the Louvre) like mummies, in an atmosphere that is made mystical by the frescoes and 19th century Egyptian colonial decorations.
During our Saturday tour you will be able to visit the gorgeous and exotic garden of the Museum which houses some rare jewels: real Etruscan megalithic tombs, roman mosaics that were found behind the Florence's Duomo and much more. This is a unique opportunity since the gardens are usually closed to ordinary visitors.
