The Fenton Mansion, built in 1863, was the home of New York State's 25th Governor, Representative and Senator. The twenty-nine rooms of the elegant mansion are filled with themed and seasonal exhibits along with Victorian period rooms that tell Jamestown, N.Y.'s story. A "Welcome to Jamestown" exhibit will introduce new visitors to the City's rich history and provide "I remember that!" moments for residents and returning visitors alike. From the famous people born and raised in Jamestown - Lucille Ball, naturalist and illustrator Roger Tory Peterson and Justice Robert H. Jackson, to the industries and discoveries that made it the largest city in the most western county in the State, you will have "I didn't know that!" moments and leave feeling like you want to see and do more in our inviting hometown.
