There will also be free time within the old city for shopping or more sightseeing.You will be picked up from your hotel in Famagusta before being transferred across the mountains and Mesaria Plain, enjoying the scenery along the way.
Then on to St Barnabas Monastery, which is now an icon museum in the ancient city of Salamis. Salamis dates back to the 11th century BC and has the largest Roman amphitheater in Cyprus.
Next you will visit Othello Castle, or Othello’s Tower, where Shakespeare was inspired to write his famous play of the same name. It was built in the 14th century by the Lusignans, a French royal house, to protect the port of Famagusta against possible enemy attacks.
You will then visit St Nicolas Cathedral, which is now known as Lala Mustafa Mosque and was built in French Gothic style. You will have some free time within the old city for shopping, lunch (own expense) or more sightseeing.
After this, you will head to a ghost town called No Ones Land which has been abandoned since 1974. You will then be transferred back to your accommodation.
