We will then walk to Myougaku Temple, and our half day of unforgettable experiences in Tokyo will start there.
For the first activity of the day, you will enjoy reading the sutras and experiencing a short session of Zazen. The spirit of Japanese Zen appeals to many people including the late Steve Jobs who is the founder of Apple. The practice of Zen is simply devoting onself to "Zazen." Zazen is the way of Zen practice where you sit in "Agura"(cross-legged) style with your back straight about 5-15 min and relinquishing all worldly desires while meditation. It is said that you reach a higher stage by focusing on sitting, quietly looking inwards.

The experience meditation (Zazen) session at Yougakuji Temple and conducted by a priest from the temple.
*No experience is required. Please attend with comfortable and loose clothes.

After Zazen, you will enjoy explore walking. This walking event is different from a regular guided walking tour but more like treasure hunt. You will receive a map and a list of missions to clear. Then you will start exploring the small town of "Fukagawa" to clear as many missions as you can within one hour. In order to complete the missions, you will try going through hidden streets, take photos and see the lives of the Japanese locals there. You will surely enjoy walking as you discover the spirit of Japan.

After a long day of walking and meditating, you will learn and enjoy Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki from a professional chef. Hiroshima Okonomiyaki is very popular among the health-conscious Japanese and this cuisine is loved by men, women, and children of all ages. You will also enjoy 2 other dishes. In additional to cooking, you will learn "Oko-Art" which is the special way of decorating Okonomiyaki. "Oko-Art" is essential to having an Okonomiyaki Party at home. This hands-on experience takes place at the nice and clean Otafuku Kitchen in Tokyo. This class is limited up to 24 people.

You will use a special Japanese “Otafuku” original towel called "Tenugui" and an “Otafuku” original apron during cooking lesson and you are allowed to take these special goods home with you. You can always remember the beauty of the Japanese "Otafuku-san": who has a smiling face, low nose representing humility, a tiny mouth implying that she does not waste her words, large ears signifying her ability to listen, robust cheeks indicating a healthy body and mind, and wide forehead portraying her wisdom.

At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Kiba Station.
