Leaving Padua, the tour starts in the south with first stop in Monselice, a beautiful little city, famous for the castle and its seven churches. Next stop is Este, with its living city center and gardens inside the castle. Afterward, you'll pay a visit to one Prosciuttificio (ham production farm) with a welcome walk through the plant, discovering producing and aging, and finally a ham tasting with possibility of purchasing.
The tour then continues toward Montagnana, with its full well-preserved city walls. Take a northerly direction with an optional stop for lunch in a restaurant/pizzeria put up an old castle. Cross the Euganean hills with stop in a winery to taste probably the best wine with the possibility to purchase.
Pass through the old village were Petrarca, a famous Italian poet of the XXIV century, lived and died. You will head back to Padova through Abano and Montegrotto, oases of thermal tourism appreciated since Roman Empire. Admire the Villa Giusti, where the armistice between Italy and Austria was signed in 1918.
